DAVID DEIGHTON

July 26, 1942 - June 10, 2026


It is with profound sadness, that the family wishes to announce the passing of David (Dave), loving husband, father, Grampa, brother, uncle and son, who passed away at home with his family by his side on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Patricia (Green); his children, Claire Ann, Christopher (Karina) and Timothy; his grandchildren, Jasmine, Brianna (Tyrone), Izabella, Avellana, Meadow, Kingsley and Bram; his sister Brenda (Woody); his sisters and brothers in-laws, Connie and Dennis Olivier, as well as Michael and Vicki Green; along with his nieces and nephews Kathleen (Raff), Daniel, Holly (Mark) and Reilly. In addition to his loving family, he leaves many dear friends, former colleagues, neighbours and extended community who will remember him with love, respect and gratitude. He was predeceased by his son David Andrew, his parents Harry and Ruth Deighton and his in-laws Thomas and Marjorie Green.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Grant Goldberg and the Access Fort Garry team for their care over the years of both Dad and Mom. To Dr. Brendan McCarthy and the surgical team at Health Sciences Centre and a special thank you to Hannah and the Palliative care team, for their compassionate care, kindness and support during his final journey.

Cremation has taken place and a funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Ignatius Parish, 255 Stafford St., Winnipeg, MB on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. Reception to follow. A private internment will take place at Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Fung Loy Kok Institute of Taoism, CancerCare MB, Alzheimer’s Society of MB or a charity of your choice.
